GEOVIA MineSched 2024
GEOVIA provides geology modelling, strategic and tactical mine planning software with industry leading solutions Surpac, MineSched and Whittle.
GEOVIA MineSched produces target-based, long- and short-term schedules using block, grid, and polygon models created in a variety of different systems, including GEOVIA Surpac and other industry geology and mine planning products. For open pit mines, MineSched accepts and schedules any number of pits and allows for easy, automated scheduling of pit push-backs and mining benches. For underground mines, it supports modelling material flow through remucks, ore passes, and material transport levels, as well as development advance and stope production scheduling.

GEOVIA MineSched Mining Scheduling Software | Dassault Systèmes
GEOVIA MineSched is the world’s most advanced tactical mine planning tool for surface and underground mines of all sizes and types, providing scheduling capabilities to achieve productivity and profit gains not possible with manual scheduling.
Intuitive, fast setup and guided workflows remove the complexity of tactical mine planning, putting true decision-making back into the hands of engineers and mine operators.
MineSched generates long- and short-term schedules that meet productivity and material quality goals.
Schedule based on pre-created block, grid and polygon models derived from several different mining planning systems, including GEOVIA Surpac™ and many other industrial geology and mining planning products.
With goal-driven, automated tactical planning, users no longer need to manually adjust schedules using Gantt charts or spreadsheets. MineSched creates schedules that increase mine operation productivity and profitability.
GEOVIA MineSched Advantages
- Achieve your scheduling goals by quickly and easily creating and comparing schedules.
- Increase productivity and efficiency by reading or integrating this data directly from all popular mine planning solutions to create an advanced scheduling user experience that requires no data conversion.
- Reduce mining costs by preparing feasible schedules using rules, constraints, and capacity targets.
- Reduce processing costs by meeting your supply grade requirements through target scheduling algorithms.
- Verify schedules by visualizing and sharing as 3D animations with a standalone interactive viewer application.
- Collaborate with others by publishing your scheduling results to Microsoft® Excel® and Microsoft® Project®.
Role/function introduction
1. Open pit mine production scheduling and dispatching
From copper to coal, surface to surface mining, MineSched offers complete long- and short-term planning. Using MineSched you can easily schedule pit pushes and mining benches.
- Quickly prepare practical schedules with MineSched automatically sequencing your mining workbench.
- Target contaminant values and class values to minimize the amount of contaminants sent to the plant.
- Materials from other mines, stocks and processing plants are blended through multiple stages of the material flow network.
- Calculate all ancillary equipment requirements including transportation, drilling, explosive charging, etc.
- Arrange dumps geometrically and watch dump progress coincide with pit and inventory positions.
- Create end face position surface triangles for stopes and dumps that can be used in other geology and mine planning packages.
2. Underground mine production scheduling
From tunneling to stope production, MineSched generates practical, comprehensive underground development and production plans divided into long- and short-term plans.
- Establish material flow models in muck, ore channels and material transport layers.
- Set up primary to secondary stope dependencies quickly and in a single pass.
- Quickly add and accurately model ancillary activities such as drilling, explosive charging, blasting, stope barricades and backfilling.
- Accurately predict stope mining periods by scheduling production and development simultaneously.
- Plan developments directly from centerline models.
- Use precise development crossover rules to allow time for installation of ventilation ducts and service lines.
- Create end-of-cycle entities that accurately represent the location of developments and stopes at the end of each cycle.
3. Reporting and publishing
In addition to MineSched’s interactive viewer, MineSched supports several methods for distributing scheduling results.
- Microsoft Excel reports and charts create periodic reports using all attribute data in the timetable, such as columns or rows. On click of a button, minesput can output a scene to a Microsoft Project Gantt chart.
- Scheduling results can be output to a set of tables in Microsoft® Access or any ODBC-compliant database.
- Powerful geometry tools create final positions, as triangular surfaces or as solid graphical output.
4. Dynamic scheduling
MineSched has two tools to provide progress animation: the animated canvas in the dashboard and the MineSched interactive viewer application. Both deliver a specially designed 3D display environment to analyze the sequence of schedules with full 3D navigation capabilities.
- The display is scheduled as blocks, solids or polygons, which are cycles of geometry subdivision and shading.
- Animate mining using different paradigms such as depletion or added display methods.
- Animation assist activities actually use additional geometry, such as blastholes.
- Includes reference geometry such as solid models of surface terrain and other infrastructure.
MineSched’s schedule animation feature is first set up on the dashboard using a 3D canvas. Once the user is satisfied with the schedule and its animation, the schedule results are saved to a compact MineSched animation file. The file can then be distributed to other users, such as managers and consultants, who can use the MineSched interactive viewer to play back the schedule while viewing it dynamically using operations such as zoom, move, and orbit.
5. Visualized production scheduling results display
Unique dashboard for scheduling MineSched during scheduling result updates.
