RFEM 6 – FEA Program
RFEM, the sixth generation of the state-of-the-art FEA software by Dlubal, is a proven solution for structural and civil engineers worldwide. The software allows for fast and efficient modeling of complex structures, as well as structural and dynamic analysis. It offers a comprehensive design of member, plate, wall, folded plate, shell, and solid elements.
RFEM is characterized by its user-friendliness and flexibility, which allows for a precise adaptation to project-specific requirements. Due to the modular concept of RFEM, you can extend the software with a wide range of add-ons, and thus use it in various specialized areas, such as concrete, steel, timber, and glass construction.
RFEM is an innovative solution that facilitates the work of structural engineers and designers.

What is new in Dlubal RFEM 6
The successful Dlubal structural analysis program RFEM is the best choice for demanding structural engineers. This 3D FEA software meets all requirements in modern civil engineering. Sophisticated input technology allows you to quickly learn to operate the program and ensures the efficient and intuitive modeling of simple and complex structures.
The successful structural analysis program RFEM 6 by Dlubal Software is the basis of a modular program family that you can customize and combine according to your individual requirements. In the main program RFEM, you can define structures, materials, and loads of planar and spatial structural systems consisting of plates, walls, shells, and members. Furthermore, you can create combined structures as well as model solid and contact elements.
RFEM provides you with the calculation of deformations, internal forces, stresses, support forces, and soil contact stresses. Load wizards simplify wind, snow, and other environmental influences. The add-ons integrated directly in the program allow you to easily carry out additional analyses and design checks according to various standards (for example, in reinforced concrete, steel, and timber structures).
In RFEM 6, numerous new features have been implemented, which make your daily work with the FEA program easier and more efficient.
System required
The following computer configurations are required as a minimum for RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9:
- Working memory (RAM): 4 GB
- Processor CPU: x64
- Free mass storage: 10 GB
- Screen and graphics card resolution: A resolution of at least 1920 x 1080 pixels should be used to correctly display all dialog boxes, windows, and result diagrams.
- Operating system: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit
- Graphics card: A graphics card such as NVIDIA or AMD with OpenGL 4.2 support (generally any dedicated GPU released after ~ 2011) We strongly advise against using an integrated GPU such as Intel, as there may be driver issues.
RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9 currently do not run on Linux or Mac OS.
For optimal program capabilities, the following computer configuration is recommended:
- Working memory (RAM): 64 GB
- Processor CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K with 8 physical cores or higher.
The number of cores has a positive effect on the calculation time and the respective single-core power on the pure program operation and preparation of the graphics data. - Use of a Solid State Drive (SSD) to achieve shorter access times and higher data transfer rates.
- Graphics card: A modern ATI or NVIDIA graphics card with OpenGL support (for example, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or better).
- If you use an Nvidia card on a remote computer, you may have to install an additional tool from Nvidia to enable remote accelerated OpenGL: developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-opengl-rdp
- Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 64-bit
- The new generation program is developed for 4k monitors. For optimal user experience, it is necessary to assign the same resolution settings. This way, the computer displays the program clearly and correctly scaled on both monitors. In the case of different scalings, there may be some clarity display issues.
