Mplus_v8.3_Win Simplified Data Analytics
Psychology series software installation: statistical modeling analysis software Mplus 8.3 (based on Mac version)
Mplus software has become the mainstream software for structural equation modeling and is favored by researchers in psychology, social sciences, economics and other disciplines. Its simple interface and graphical display of data and analysis results provide researchers with a wide range of models, estimations and algorithm. Mplus allows cross-sectional and longitudinal, single-level and multi-level data analysis; observed data from different populations or unobserved heterogeneous data, as well as data containing missing values, can be analyzed.
Mplus mainly handles the following models: Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), Item Response Theory analysis, IRT), latent class analysis (LCA), latent transition analysis (LTA), survival analysis (Survival Analysis), growth model (Growth Modeling), multilevel model (Multilevel Analysis), complex data ( Complex Survey Data Analysis) and Monte Carlo Simulation (Monte Carlo Simulation), etc.
Mplus’s user language consists of a set of ten commands, each of which has several options. Mplus’s default options have been chosen to minimize user input for the most common analyses. For most analyses, only a small subset of Mplus commands is required. Complex models can be easily described using the Mplus language.
The ten commands of Mplus are: TITLE, DATA (required), VARIABLE (required), DIFINE, ANALYSIS, MODEL, OUTPUT, SAVEDATA, PLOT, MONTECARLO.
The TITLE command is used to provide a title for the analysis.
The DATA command is used to provide information about the data set to be analyzed.
The VARIABLE command is used to provide information about the variables in the data set to be analyzed.
The DEFINE command is used to convert existing variables and create new variables.
The ANALYSIS command is used to describe technical details analysis.
The MODEL command is used to describe the model to be estimated.
The OUTPUT command is used to request additional output not included as the default.
The SAVEDATA command is used to save analysis data, auxiliary data and various analysis results.
The PLOT command is used to request graphical display of observed data and analysis results.
The MONTECARLO command is used to specify the details of a Monte Carlo simulation study.
Mplus commands can be arranged in any order. All analysis requires DATA and VARIABLE commands. All commands must start with a new line and must be followed by a colon. Semicolons separate command options. There can be multiple options per line.
Records in the input settings must not exceed 90 columns. They can contain uppercase and/or lowercase letters and tab characters.
