VERICUT is a 3D solids-based software program that interactively simulates the material removal process of an NC program. The program depicts multi-axis milling/drilling as well as multi-axis turning and combination mill/turn machining. It enables you to verify the accuracy and quality of your NC program. Inefficient motion or programming errors that could potentially ruin a part, damage the fixture, or break the cutting tool can be corrected before the program is run on an CNC machine tool.
Verification is the foundation of the VERICUT product line and is required to run any of the other add-on modules. Superior Performance: VERICUT’s unique algorithm provides fast, accurate results. Performance does not degrade with increased cuts, so VERICUT can process programs with millions of cuts and virtually any type of material removal technique.
Base Verification verifies 3-axis milling and 2-axis turning (including multiple setup positions). The Multi-Axis module is required to detect collisions between the tool, stock and fixture for rotary 4 & 5-axis positioning/indexing motion. Add Multi-Axis to detect collisions during positioning and to remove material during continuous four and five axis milling, drilling, turning, and combination mill/turn operations.
Verification detects errors such as
Incorrect or misread blueprints
Inaccurate programming
Incorrect tool path motions
Rapid motion contact
Collisions with fixtures and clamps
Tool shank and holder collisions
CAD/CAM and post-processor bugs

With the launch of Vericut 9.6, CGTech introduces AI-powered tools that enhance support, streamline workflows and bring new levels of usability to CNC simulation and optimisation.

CG Tech announced the release of Vericut 9.6, the latest version of its CNC simulation, verification and optimisation software. This update introduces advanced artificial intelligence capabilities and a range of productivity-focused enhancements that simplify machining workflows, improve collaboration, and deliver real-world usability across the shop floor.
Vericut 9.6 introduces two transformative AI-driven tools that redefine how users interact with the software:
Vericut Assistant (VA): An integrated in-software guide that delivers instant, context-aware support. Whether users are looking for help with settings, simulation steps, or tool configurations, VA answers “How do I…” questions right within the interface — reducing training time and unlocking more value from Vericut’s robust features.
Vericut Intelligence (VI): A web-based knowledge hub that provides 24/7 access to AI-powered insights across Vericut’s full suite — including Force, Composites, Optimizer, and more. From broad concepts like “What is Force?” to specific features like “X-Caliper”, VI offers a smart, searchable companion for all things Vericut.
Better communication and control
Vericut Reviewer — the free tool for reviewing NC programs — has been upgraded to support Auto-Diff results, while improvements to the UI add HUD status displays and custom hot keys, making it easier to review, share, and analyse simulations across teams.
The update includes support for 3D Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), enabling users to display and document dimensions and annotations in line with ISO 10303/STEP AP242 standards.
Improvements to the turning module allow for more accurate definition of driven points and automatic tool qualification, streamlining lathe setups. A simplified Optimisation Control window and default tool data contribute to faster and easier adjustment of feedrates, supporting more efficient cutting operations.
Vericut 9.6 also offers extended interface support, including compatibility with Siemens Run MyVirtual Machine and Fanuc Robot T.P. language. Updates to CAD/CAM integration enhance the user experience further, with expanded functionality in various interfaces such as the auto-loading of stock, fixtures, and designs in NX.
Additional updates include new report templates, improved machine connectivity, enhanced solid model textures, and improved tool import capabilities from MachiningCloud.
“Vericut 9.6 takes intelligent manufacturing to the next level,” said Gene Granata, Director of Product Management at CGTech. “These new AI tools are not just about automation — they’re about giving users faster access to Vericut knowledge and providing guidance when needed during their verification and optimisation processes.”
